Conference Overview
This session explored conflict and peace through community, resilience, and the lived realities of war. By bringing together perspectives from Myanmar and Ukraine, it invited participants to reflect on how peace is built in daily life and how human strength can continue to emerge even in the darkest circumstances.

Peter Shin
Pastor, mediator, and community peace advocate
Peter Shin holds an M.Div. in Christian Ethics from North Park and McCormick Seminaries in the United States. He is ordained with C&MA, serves as a Dialogue Mediation Commissioner for Jeonbuk/Chungnam Police, and supports Myanmar students in Korea through KMCOOP.
Topic: How Do We Make Peace in Our Community?
This talk reflected on peace not as an abstract ideal, but as something that can be practiced and built within everyday communities. Using the current situation in Myanmar as a lens, it emphasized collective effort, responsibility, and the need for hopeful action toward a more peaceful future.

Victoria Spashchenko
Intercultural coach and Solution-Focused practitioner
Victoria Spashchenko is an intercultural coach, facilitator, and Solution-Focused practitioner with a background in management. She is also a keynote speaker and author who focuses on multicultural communication, change, and practical problem-solving.
Topic: War as a Daily Experience
Victoria’s talk focused on the lived reality of war in Ukraine, not only as devastation and loss, but also as a source of courage, resilience, and unity. By highlighting the strength of ordinary people under extraordinary pressure, the session pointed toward hope without denying suffering.
